It was with mixed emotions that I came to the realization in 2007 that I had been painting in oils for 50 years, in the "spare time" I could borrow, first from school, then from practicing law, raising a family, coaching Special Olympics teams, and many, many life obligations that competed for my time.  Certainly it is a milestone, but there is so much more painting I want to do before I am through.  I decided then that it was time to create this website, but it has been largely unattended for over a decade until now.  When I set up a solo law practice in 2010 so that I could focus completely on representing artists in intellectual property matters, I thought I would have more time to paint.  I have had less time to paint, but it has been satisfying to help protect the copyrights of artists who want to make a living from their work.

My art has always been an important part of who I am and how I view the world around me.  My desire to create in oils on canvas was born out of the only formal art training I had (at age 8) and has grown as more and more years pass.   The beauty of the place and the people of Hawaii continues to inspire me to interpret and preserve what I see and feel.  I am looking forward to retirement and much more painting in the years to come.
